YouTube Preview Image

After 2 years of reading/writing/creating my first 100 PhilosophersNotes, today a big ol' truck arrived to deliver a pallet packed with 25 boxes of our PN Workbooks + MP3 shuffles. (These are holiday gifts for some of my special peeps!) REALLY exciting to see these for the first time! Hope you enjoy the video of it!

Here's the amazingly cool Foreword to the Workbook by Gay Hendricks that I mention!

And you can buy 'em here: http://PhilosophersNotes.com/notes :)

    I love this!
I have been immersed in the PhilosophersNotes for over a week now, and am overwhelmed by the amount of literature, information, insights and quotes that you have amassed. As a benefactor, trying to absorb the knowledge in quantum leaps, has been no easy feat.

I can only imagine, and express my gratitude, for your dedication to this project, so individuals like myself may more easily and effortlessly climb onto the shoulders of giants ~ and soar!

Watching the 'crate date', was an emotional moment for me as a viewer. Congratulations seems so weak a word! Mazel Tov is only slightly stronger!

The shuffle and binder are now on my wish list, and someday soon, I shall be honored to present the same to my friends, students, and persons I have yet to meet.

    Thank you for your gifts.
    Sharon

I like the integration of Facebook Connect on your blog. Well done.
The video would be perfect if it wasn't for the unsharp picture of the (Flip) camera. Try to fix that :)

Dude! Thankyou so much for doing this. thanks for all your work.
The more I listen to you and get to know you through these videos, the more I'm convinced there are actually authentic, caring, and truly good intending entrepreneurs out there. I love the fact that you actually do care and want to make a difference in the world and the money is just bonus. This is the way the economy should be modeled after and I hope that more people are inspired by you to do the same.

Big companies need not be monsters. Google said it best in their company motto: "Don't Be Evil". It's a great philosophy to have and I hope to say the exact same thing when it's my time to shine as well!

Let's see, 100 Notes in 2 years. Since there are 52 weeks in a year. You produced about one note per week -- which meant that you had to read one book per week. Is that about right? That sound like a full-time job to me. Was it? Is my math correct?

    • BrianJohnson
      December 24, 2009 | 12:14 am

hey P: i had read ~40 of them before and had started collecting big ideas on them a few years before and then created those Notes in the first several months as I spent a fair amount of time building the web site, producing the daily emails and all that jazz. then read 60 more at various rates while in LA then in bali for a year. plus taught 90 90-minute classes on about 70 of the books! full time job fer sure! (with meditation and movement as key parts of my "job" too! :)

Ok, now stop that. It's too good for words. It's so good it's painful. I don't see how anyone can know how good, because this sort of thing goes subconscious and will totally reorganize your mind to a new self, if you let it. Intuition can access a new self. I mean, tha i's powerful.
I just dropped negative words for a while and had my highest consciousness and lowest depression. The thing is, I stood up in three minutes and my lowest depression ever, disappeared. It appeared to be done subconsciously. After all, science rates it as a million times the speed and capacity of the conscious mind. It really does our thinking with vision logic, which is images and symbols, the language of the brain. We only get the screen readout, if we know how to use our intuition. The mind seems to be the opposite of a computer in that the computer has trouble with graphics, while text is easy, fast and with small files. The mind, however seems to choke with words, while images are slick. So fast that you basically have to stop one to see it.
That one on psych-cybernetics blew me away. I had tried to read it before and gave up. Here it turns out to be better than, than what? Everything? That felt like about the last piece I needed for a pretty clear picture. I mean, going to the moon is nice, but it looks like we have hardly started yet compared to all that seems to be coming up and coming up fast too.
The whole mind can not only put the whole book in context, but all the books and all life, while we don't even notice it, and if we don't develop out intuition to access it, then we often don't get a lot of the benefit.
I would recommend people get a handle on Emotional Intelligence, because that is pretty much an intro into intuition, although EI is not necessarily presented that way. You just have to get the information that is clear and down to earth, like Covey, although he doesn't really go into it that well. I would even recommend Emotional Intelligence in sports. Fun too. When you get into 'the zone' in sports, its as if all the other players slow down. It's similar to the phenomena of when your whole life passes in front of you in a second or two.
    'nuf said.
